The Department of Neuroscience and the Friedman Brain Institute at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is looking to hire a full-time tenure-track researcher at the level of Assistant Professor. Exceptional candidates may be considered at the level of Associate or full Professor. Successful applicants are expected to establish an independent, NIH-funded, and collaborative research group at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai focusing on computational approaches to understanding the brain. We offer highly competitive startup packages and laboratory space at the main Mount Sinai campus on the Upper East Side of New York city.

The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is a leader in basic and clinical neuroscience and the aim of this hire is to compliment the department and Institute’s research strengths in behavioral, cognitive, molecular, and clinical neuroscience. This hire is associated with a central Mount Sinai initiative in computation. We are specifically looking for applicants with a strong track record in one or more of the following:

  • Neural coding, computation, and algorithm development
  • Computational approaches to modeling behavior, neural activity, and neural communication.
  • Analyses of complex systems and big data in neuroscience (e.g. high-density neural recordings, fMRI)
