The Department of Psychology in the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Decision Sciences to begin Fall semester 2018 (August 28, 2018). The specific area of study is open, as long as it includes basic research on the processes by which individuals and/or groups make decisions or choose courses of action. Methods can be drawn from psychology, neuroscience, computation, and other domains. Teaching responsibilities will include both undergraduate- and graduate-level teaching. The primary appointment is expected to be in our Cognitive and Brain Sciences program with potential for cross-affiliation with one of the 6 other areas within the department as well as other units on campus.
The appointment will be 100% time over the nine-month academic year (late-August to late-May), and will be made at rank of tenure-track assistant professor. Salary is competitive.
Candidates will be evaluated according to the overall quality of their academic preparation and scholarly work, evidence of research ability, ability to make an interdisciplinary contribution to the University’s research mission, commitment to high-quality classroom instruction and student mentoring, and the strength of recommendations. A successful candidate’s dossier will demonstrate scholarly distinction, a record of publications, and teaching commitment.
Faculty members in the College of Liberal Arts are expected to maintain an active program of scholarly research; develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses; mentor graduate students; and contribute service to the department, college, university, and profession that is appropriate for their rank.
