Postdoc in Computational Psychiatry in Waltz Lab @ Maryland Psychiatric Research Center, University of Maryland School of Medicine

A postdoctoral position in Clinical Neuroscience/Computational Psychiatry is available in the Waltz Lab at the Maryland Psychiatric Research Center, outside of Baltimore (https://www.mprc.umaryland.edu), and is supported by an NIH R01 grant on the interacting effects of stress and psychotic illness on learning and motivation. We are interested in uncovering neural mechanisms of both positive and negative symptoms, which could serve as potential biomarkers for use in the early diagnosis and treatment of psychosis. The ongoing project involves the collection of behavioral, neuroimaging, clinical, self-report, and ecological momentary assessment data related to reward- and stress-sensitivity.

Candidates should have a PhD in psychology/neuroscience or a related field. Skills in the computational analysis of reinforcement learning, neuroimaging, and EMA data are highly desired, as are coding skills (MATLAB/Python/R/shell scripting).

Applicants should submit the following:

* a 1-2-page cover letter with a statement of research interests;
* a CV;
* PDFs of relevant papers;
* the names of two people who can be contacted for references.

Funding is available for two years. Salary will be commensurate with the NIH postdoctoral salary scale.
