Computational Neuropsychiatry

The Division of Interdisciplinary Brain Sciences in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University seeks a research scientist with expertise in computational modeling as applied to psychiatric and neurodevelopmental disorders to join the division as an Assistant Professor in the University Tenure Line, Non-Tenure Line (Research), or Medical Center Line. The predominant criterion for appointment in the University Tenure Line is a major commitment to research and teaching. The major criterion for appointment for faculty in the Non-Tenure Line (Research) is evidence of high-level performance as a researcher for whose special knowledge a programmatic need exists. The major criteria for appointment for faculty in the Medical Center Line shall be excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, clinical teaching, scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine, and institutional service appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill.
The successful applicant should have significant computational modeling expertise as related to psychiatry and/or neuroscience and experience integrating multidisciplinary conceptual and factual information across related dimensions of inquiry (e.g. cognition, behavior, genomics, imaging). Excellent training and an established track record of research are expected. Candidates should have a MD, PhD or MD/PhD with graduate degrees (or comparable experience) in computer science, neuroscience, psychology, biomedical engineering, statistics or a related discipline. Clinician applicants must possess clinical doctoral level training in General Psychiatry, Psychology, or a related clinical field, and be currently licensed or fully eligible for a California medical license or a California license to practice clinical psychology. The chosen candidate will conduct teaching and cutting-edge, cross-disciplinary computational research as it relates to psychiatric and neurodevelopmental disorders. If a clinician is chosen, clinical care for patients with psychiatric and/or neurodevelopmental disorders may also be a component of the position.
