Join our team and help us drive forward the field of mental health research and education.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">About The Role<\/h2>\n<p>The post holder will characterise existing and develop new approaches to robust computational modelling in mental health settings, with a particular focus on longitudinal and treatment settings. For example, the postholder will examine the statistical and theoretical properties of different analyses and modelling approaches for cognitive data to address questions regarding which task designs have the best power, how to decide on the \u2018best\u2019 model, what are the strengths and differences of different analytical approaches etc.<\/p>\n<p>This work will involve consultation and collaboration with a broad array of researchers across neuroscience and mental health at UCL to identify key evaluation metrics, likely followed by extensive simulation studies to quantitatively compare different approaches and ideally the development of a new integrated toolbox to make robust methods accessible to the wider community.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Appointment details:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>This is a joint position between the Division of Psychiatry and Division of Psychology and Language Sciences.<\/li>\n<li>The post is available immediately and is funded for 2 years in the first instance.<\/li>\n<li>The salary for this role is grade 7 spine points 29-31, the annual salary for which ranges from \u00a339,508 to \u00a341,586 (including London Allowance).<\/li>\n<li>Appointment at Grade 7 is dependent upon having been awarded a PhD; if this is not the case, initial appointment will be at Grade 6B (salary \u00a335,702 \u2013 \u00a337,548 per annum) with payment at Grade 7 being backdated to the date of final submission of the PhD Thesis.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">About You<\/h2>\n<p>The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in machine learning, statistics, neuroscience, psychology, or a quantitative field and should have a strong background in:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Decision-making<\/li>\n<li>Reinforcement learning and \/ or machine learning<\/li>\n<li>Bayesian modelling<\/li>\n<li>Sampling and inference method<\/li>\n<li>Clinical experience in the field of developmental neuroscience, psychiatry or related fields is highly desirable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A full job description and person specification can be accessed at the bottom of this page.
