Comp Psych Postdoc @UCL with Huys lab – Maladaptive thinking in depression

A postdoctoral position is available as part of a Wellcome Trust funded new research project on maladaptive thinking in depression.

The focus of the postdoctoral positions will be to combine cognitive probes with computational modelling and MEG imaging to better understand how affective biases arise, and how affective events results in emotional experience. Relevant examples of related work are:

• Russek et al., 2021 – Selective outcome reinstatement during evaluation drives heuristics in risky choice
• Huys and Browning 2021 – A Computational View on the Nature of Reward and Value in Anhedonia
• Huys et al., 2015 PNAS – The interplay of approximate planning strategies
• Rutledge et al., 2017 JAMA Psych – Association of Neural and Emotional Impacts of Reward Prediction Errors With Major Depression

Applicants should have a PhD in neuroscience or a related field, experience with cognitive and / or computational research and an active interest in mental health.
