Individuals who have schizophrenia, or who are at risk for schizophrenia, often have subtle disturbances in spoken language and face expression. These impairments are now assessed in the clinic through observation and clinical ratings. In collaboration with Guillermo Cecchi and Stephen Heisig, we have worked to operationalize and quantify these behavioral impairments.
